The Townsville Folk Club meets every second Thursday at the Belleview Hotel, Allen St, South Townsville, a family friendly venue with delicious meals available at the Bistro. Regular blackboard nights are mixed with special guests and featured artists.

The main problem with Saturday morning meetings is they follow Friday night intellectual discussions. Despite this your gallant executive plus very welcome interested folkies tried their best to focus on very weighty items, including bar orders and overly bright sunlight.

FOLK CLUB LOGIES (CUT PRICE) BALL

This prestigious event will feature culinary delights (Grub) several bands (Musos) verbal entertainment (MC) optional perambulation (Dancing) and a big chance of winning an award (Ego tripping)

Venison, sturgeon and roast swan are not included on the low budget menu. The bands are being organized from our own ranks, and the awards will be of a light hearted style rather than deadly serious-(i.e.  THE FOLKIE WIH THE BIGGEST----------)

The red carpet for the ball has arrived and I’ve had the privilege of parading up and down on it with an appropriate display of body language-it will be exhibited on Thursday night, which will also be your first opportunity  to acquire the fabled tickets in person-I would recommend the ones with the red ladybirds-both the delightful Flumes and the enthralling An Clad have confirmed that they will play although there has been no reply from Julie Andrews and the von Trapp rockers.

The Palm Creek Folk Festival is an annual event, held over the Queens Birthday weekend in June, in the lush tropical grounds of the Mountain View Lake Eco Park, 40km south of Townsville, North Queensland.
